Open House Draws Interested Citizens

More than 120 curious neighbors, citizens, retired teachers and Heights family members attended an Open House at the newly renovated Heights High on the Wiley campus in University Heights.

The event was hosted by the University Heights City Council and Mayor to give residents a chance to tour the renovated school and learn more about the school’s programming.

University Heights Mayor Susan Infeld, Cleveland Heights-Universality Heights Superintendent Dr. Talisa Dixon and Heights High Administrative Principal Zoraba Ross spoke briefly to the attendees.

However, the main attraction was the building. Parent Ambassadors led building tours as residents saw the additional gymnasium,

five hallways of modular classrooms, a music wing and an expanded cafeteria.
The University Heights Community Engagement Committee of Council was largely responsible for the event.


“The people I talked to were so impressed and very happy to see the changes to the school,” said Council member and committee Co-Chair Nancy English.

All the UH Council members attended the event: Pam Cameron, Phil Ertel, Sue Pardee (Co-Chair of Community Engagement Committee), Steve Sims, Mark Wiseman and Adele Zucker.


Heights High students will attend school at the Wiley campus in University Heights for two years. In the fall of 2017, students will return to the building at Cedar and Lee in Cleveland Heights. The original 1926 building is being renovated and the additions to the building are being demolished.
