Feb. 9, 2016 -- Get your day off to an energetic start on Wednesday, February 17. The community is invited to celebrate our public schools at a “More Than A Score” rally at five CH-UH elementary schools. High school and middle school parents should celebrate at their local elementary school.
Each participating school has planned a brief start of the day send off for students and staff. Participants are encouraged to express what they treasure about their school and what is precious about our students.
Start times for these school-based celebrations are:
Boulevard Gym – 8:45 a.m.
Canterbury Gym - 8:45 a.m.
Fairfax Gym – 8:30 a.m.
Gearity Gym – 8:50 a.m.
Oxford Gym – 8:45 a.m.
Roxboro Gazebo – 8:30 a.m.
Event co-sponsors are the CH-UH Council of PTAs and the Heights Coalition for Public Education. Come to your local elementary school and help send the message that standardized tests do not define us. School quality and student learning are more than a score. We are also aligned with the Alliance to Reclaim Our Schools which is involved in events like ours throughout the country on February 17.
