“I am extremely proud of my communications team.  We are grateful for this recognition,” stated Angee Shaker, Director of Communications. “The tools we use to communicate are evolving and the amount of information we communicate continues to increase while our budget continues to tighten. The demand on the department is high but we do our best to not only keep up, but lead with the latest communication tools, populate them and train and empower our school teams to do the same.”

The District will pilot Teacher Webpages for the 2015-16 school year that won’t require a cumbersome log-in for students and parents. “This is yet another communication tool that will allow our families to access homework assignments, assessment calendars and study materials to help support their student(s) throughout the year,” stated Shaker. Last September, the District launched a new website. The Communications Department continues to highlight the great achievements of our students, teachers and staff through featured stories on the website.

Achievement awards from NSPRA recognize exemplary school public relations plans, marketing materials, web sites, videos, print newsletters, special purpose publications, photography, writing pieces and e-newsletters. The competition is open to all education-related organizations in Ohio and throughout the United States.

OHSPRA is a public relations organization that has dedicated more than 30 years to facilitating support for and trust in education through comprehensive communications efforts.
