Police Chiefs Tour Heights High

Nov. 3, 2017 -- Heights High principal Dr. Brian Williams invited the Cleveland Heights Police Chief Annette Mecklenburg and University Heights Police Chief Steve Hammet to tour the new building and to learn about the programming offered in the school.
Chief Mecklenberg and CHPD Captain Edward Lentz and Investigator Falisa Berry toured the school on September 29. Chief Hammett and UHPD Lieutenant Dale Orians toured the school on October 27.

“It is important for us to partner with our local police departments so we can work together to support our students,” he said. “And, we are so proud of our students and our new building, we want our community leaders to come in and see what we do.”

The tour included all of the common areas and several Career and Technical Education Programs, including Cosmetology, Criminal Justice and Digital Media Production.

The Digital Media production students also recorded interviews with the officers.

“I am so impressed with this new building and the students at Heights High,” said University Heights Police Chief Steve Hammet. “There are many wonderful opportunities for you here, I am proud that you are taking advantage of the programs."

Cleveland Heights Police Chief Annette Mecklenberg said that the school is an important part of the community. “I am so happy to see the inside of this beautiful  building and to see students learning and growing.”
