CH-UH City School District LogoOct. 15, 2018 -- The CH-UH Board of Education discussed the District’s Master Facilities Plan (MFP) at its most recent regular meeting on Oct. 2. Specifically, the Board discussed the District’s upcoming work to evaluate Phase II of the MFP.

The District is forming an executive committee to work with outside consultant Van Auken Akins to evaluate the MFP, now that Phase I is approaching a conclusion with the middle school renovations. The executive committee will include District Cabinet members, building principals, and two Board members.

Topics of the MFP evaluation include, but are not limited to:
  • Ensuring a school presence in both Cleveland Heights and University Heights;
  • Location of the bus depot;
  • Creation of “Heights Innovation Academy” or magnet school;
  • Consolidating elementary schools;
  • Centralized preschool building;
  • PreK-8 building;
  • Revisiting school boundaries or redistricting.

The Board of Education will be seeking community input throughout this evaluation period. The Board encourages community members to watch the discussion in the video below and contact them with feedback and ideas. The District also expects to hold community meetings as the process moves forward.
