Junior Checklist

Welcome to Cleveland Heights High School. The best time to start thinking about “what do I plan to do after high school?” is now. High school goes by so quickly, and you don’t want to save all of your work for when you’re just a few months away from graduating.

During your junior year, you can meet with your counselor to learn about your graduation requirements, evaluate how you’re doing academically, get involved in different extracurricular activities, and begin to research college and/or career options.

Find the Junior Checklist to plan and receive the support needed for academic success.

Join GEAR UP 2 New Heights

All junior students are encouraged to join GEAR UP to gain opportunities in participating in college discussions, college visits, gaining study skills necessary to be college-ready. Joining GEAR UP will spark excitement about school and help build a sense of belonging to the school community.

This grant-funded program follows students through the completion of their first post-high school year with the intention of increasing college attendance and retention rates.

The program is a partnership grant which means that the students have the support of a College and Career Access Advisor from College Now Cleveland.
Carmen Daniel, who happens to be a Heights grad herself, is stationed in the high school and works with students on scheduling, advising, and mentoring. She also participates in both AVID courses and Freshmen Seminar and helps coordinate the Link Crew, made up of junior and senior student mentors.
