Visual Arts 

The courses offered in the Visual Arts Department include Introduction to Art, Photography, Ceramics, Commercial Art, Studio Art, Metalsmithing/Jewelry and AP Studio Art. Heights students routinely win awards in the Scholastic Art Awards competition and other local and regional art competitions.  

The Art Department welcomes the novice art students and also prepares advanced students for entrance into art institutes and universities.
 
Besides the art curriculum, students are also active in the Art Club, working with local artists to design and competing murals and other public art.
 
Performing Arts 
 
The Theater Arts Department offers courses for students interested in performing on stage and in the technical or backstage aspect of the theater. Courses include Introduction to Theater I and II and a Theater Residency. The technical theater courses include Introduction to Technical Theater, Production Design for the Theater and Stage Management and Technical Direction.
 
The Theater Arts Department produces a multi act play each school year and also an evening of student directed and acted one act plays. 
 
The department partners with the Vocal Music and Instrumental Music Departments on the annual fall musical.
