Heights Boys Basketball Undefeated, Yahell Hill Named Player of the Week

Yahell Hill

Dec. 12, 2016 -- The Heights High boys basketball team is off to a 3-0 start to the season following a 71-38 rout of Richmond Heights on the road Friday evening.

The Tigers moved up to No. 4 in the Cleveland.com Top 25 Rankings following the win.

One big reason for Heights' early season success is the play of junior point guard Yahell Hill, who was named Player of the Week by NEO Spotlight on Dec. 7. Hill scored 21 points in the season-opening win over St. Ignatius and a career-best 37 points the following night in a win over Cornerstone Christian.

The Tigers return to action on Friday, Dec. 16, when they host Bedford at Warrensville Heights High School, which will serve as Heights' home floor for the 2016-17 season.

The Heights girls basketball team is off a 1-3 start to the season. The Tigers' lone win was a 55-53 victory over Shaw in the season opener. Heights will host Shaw this Wednesday, at 7:30 p.m. at Warrensiville Heights HS.
