Jaylen Harris, Charles Conwell Honored With Greater Cleveland Sports Awards

Jan. 31, 2017 -- Jaylen Harris, Charles Conwell and LeBron James. All three were honored by the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission last Thursday at the Renaissance Cleveland Hotel.

Harris, a senior wide receiver at Heights High, was named the High School Athlete of the Year. Harris has committed to play football at Ohio State next year and will sign his letter of intent with the Buckeyes on Wednesday. Harris was named All-Ohio after finishing the 2016 season with 53 catches for 820 yards and eight touchdowns despite being regularly double and triple-teamed by opposing defenses.

Harris is also a standout performer for the Heights basketball team, which is ranked among the top squads in Northeast Ohio.

Conwell, a 2016 graduate of Heights High, was named the Amateur Athlete of the Year. This past August, Conwell competed in the Rio Olympics as a member of the U.S. national boxing team. Conwell is an 11-time national champion, a two-time USA Boxing national champion and a national Golden Glove champ.
