Students Recognized as AP Scholars

AP Scholar

August 18, 2017 -- Forty two Heights High students received AP Scholar Awards.

The AP Program recognizes high school students who have demonstrated outstanding college-level achievement through their performance on AP Exams.

The AP International Diploma is granted to students who receive scores of 3 or higher on five or more AP Exams in three or more subject areas.

Class of 2017: Charles Adams

The National AP Scholar award is granted to students who receive an average score of at least 4 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams.

Class of 2017: Charles Adams, Callan Swaim-Fox and William Van Den Bogert

The AP Scholar with Distinction award is granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams

Class of 2017: Charles Adams, Akash Bartlett, David Fleischer, Tladi Motsamai, Benjamin Schuster, James Smith, Callan Swaim-Fox and William Van Den Bogert

Class of 2018:
Evangeline Bambakidis, Hannah Gilson, Sophie Gilson, Melanie Graham, William Hopkins, Rosalind Madorsky, Jordan Major, Anabel Pederson and Mary Jane Reinhardt

The AP Scholar with Honor award is granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.

Class of 2017:
Soli Collins, Linnea Covault, Avery Dyer, Jeremy Kauffman, Andrew Kilbride, Delia Robinson and Gilda Weinstock

Class of 2018:
Remi Godard, Londyn Crenshaw, Lily Kerr-Jung and Emma Routh

The AP Scholar Award is granted to students who receive scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams.

Class of 2017:
Gavin Alcorn, Andrew Bell, Anya Chew, Nicholas Edwards, Daniel Fields, Isabella Jaffery, Stephen Lang, Tyler Lawson, James Major and Nina Yao.

Class of 2018:
Kimberly Fisher, Adam Smith and Hannah Thellian

Class of 2019:
Macy Smith

The AP (Advanced Placement) program is administered by The College Board. Students enrolled in the college level courses take an end of course exam and receive a score of 1-5. Colleges and universities often grant advanced placement based on the AP scores.

Heights High offers 19 AP courses.
