May 7, 2019 -- Memorial services have been scheduled for Jim Cappelletti, former Heights High boys basketball coach, who passed away at age 85.

 

On Saturday, May 11 from 2 to 5:30 p.m., family will receive friends at the DeJohn Funeral Home & Celebrations Center of Chesterland, 12811 Chillicothe Road. There will be a closing prayer and eulogy service at 5:30 p.m. 

 

A memorial service is planned for Saturday, June 15 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Competition Gym/Cappelletti Court at Heights High.  

 

Cappelletti, known fondly as Coach Cap, spent 45 years in the CH-UH District and won 539 games in his coaching career. He was inducted into the Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2011. In 2018, Heights High School dedicated its new basketball court in his honor.
