Jan. 15, 2021 -- Monticello Middle School science teacher Tiffany Underhile was recently interviewed by Spectrum News 1 as part of their video series “2020 Lessons Learned,” featuring testimonies from teachers, healthcare workers, and other essential professions. The 7th grade science teacher spoke to the experience of virtual schooling and how it has taught her much more than she's ever imagined it would.
Mrs. Underhile expressed how there are important lessons to be learned from this unique experience of teaching in a completely virtual environment. Being away from her students physically has also taught her the impact of small interactions, the power of a hug, and the strength of encouraging words in the classroom.
