Let's Read, Tiger Nation!

June 7, 2024 -- Summer is the perfect time for all students in grades K-12 to choose a book, manga, comic book, or audiobook to read or listen to. Everything counts! 

CH-UH and Heights Libraries are working together to encourage all families to read. Summer Reading at the Heights Libraries is going green (and digital), with less paper but all the same fun. Log your reading, earn raffle tickets, and enter prize drawings right from your device. It’s simple. Register on Beanstack at heightslibrary.beanstack.org and log your daily reading for chances to win awesome grand prizes!

From June 1 through August 9, we are inviting students to enter the CH-UH Summer Reading Challenge. The entry form is a questionnaire according to your student's grade level (PreK-2, 3-5,6-8, 9-12). Student names will be entered into a raffle for Tiger Nation swag and selected names will be drawn five times throughout the summer beginning June 14 and occurring every other week until August 10. Winners will be notified via email. 

Remember, any kind of reading counts! Here are ways to access ebooks at no cost:
  • The Heights Libraries offers access to ebooks; follow the directions here
  • Hoopla is another resource for ebooks; follow the directions here
  • The app Open eBooks also has access. Try using this resource from INFOhio explore a variety of topics appropriate for elementary aged students. 
  • Finally. check out this article from GreatSchools.org which includes specific information about reading and learning throughout the summer.
