Dear CH-UH Families,

To ensure that we have high-quality instructional materials in every classroom, we review and adopt new textbooks and materials on a 6-10 year cycle. This year, our focus is on the English Language Arts (ELA)/English curricular materials that are used in our K-12 classrooms.

During the 2nd quarter of the 2022-2023 academic year, ELA/English teachers will be piloting new materials with the class. Each teacher has received training in advance of this pilot program and will be attending ongoing professional learning throughout this time period. As new resources are implemented in our pilot classrooms, our Instructional Leadership team will be getting feedback and data from educators, students, and families to evaluate the effectiveness of the materials. Teachers will be involved in recommending a new ELA/English program, which will be presented to the Board of Education later this school year.
