The Cleveland Heights-University Heights Board recognized three teachers at the September 2 Board Meeting for mastery in teaching.
The Master Teachers are: Jennifer Thomas – Roxboro Elementary School and Christine Smrdel and Tiffany Jordan-Shaw - both teachers at Roxoboro Middle School.
The master teacher designation means that a teacher demonstrates excellence inside and outside of the classroom through consistent leadership and focused collaboration to maximize student learning. She continuously strives for distinguished teaching and continued professional growth. She also understands the content of her subject matter, is sensitive to diverse student needs, and sets the bar high for all students in an environment that allows them to achieve.
