Roxboro Middle School Baseball

Roxboro Middle School students receive high quality educational services. Teaching and learning is our priority! However, we also strive to develop well-rounded and productive citizens. We recognize the importance of athletics in developing the whole child, and believe that being part of a team is beneficial to the development of our adolescent students as they gain self-confidence, develop leadership skills, and forge new friendships. At Roxboro Middle School, we believe that participation in team sports is an important component of the social and emotional development of our students.

There are numerous opportunities to participate in our athletic program, and each season offers different team activities. Below, you can find a list of the sports teams we sponsor and the season they compete. Each 7th and 8th-grader has an opportunity to play middle school sports assuming the academic criteria is met.

The schools have access to tennis courts and outdoor fields for football, baseball, softball, field hockey, track, and soccer. We have two gymnasiums for our basketball, volleyball, and wrestling programs to use for practice and competitions. We are proud of our student-athletes both in the classroom and on the field. Please come join our students, parents, and staff as they cheer on our student athletes this year.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Roxboro Middle School Athletics provides students the opportunity to participate in interscholastic athletics by offering 13 sports teams. While participating in athletics, students are reminded that doing so is a PRIVILEGE not a RIGHT. As student-athletes, academics takes precedence over playing ability and should be the focus of a middle school experience. Please review the following:

· ONLY QUARTER GRADES ARE USED FOR ELIGIBILITY

· Students must pass a minimum of 5 core .5 or 1.0 credit classes

· A student who fails 2 or more courses is automatically INELIGIBLE

· Summer school grades MAY NOT be used to substitute failing Quarter grades
