June 5, 2024 -- At the monthly regular Board of Education meeting on June 4, the Board and Superintendent Kirby recognized student artists, Fairfax Elementary School’s PBIS initiatives were highlighted, and the Board discussed processes and cost implications for the consideration of renaming Monticello Middle School.

Meeting Overview
- Superintendent Kirby shared updates on the past month’s work within the five goals of the District’s Strategic Plan. Also part of the Superintendent’s Report:
- Each month, the District showcases a school's PBIS initiatives through a short video. PBIS, or Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports, is an important part of CH-UH Schools’ climate and culture. The PBIS School Spotlight for June is Fairfax Elementary School.
- At the May 9 regular meeting, the Board approved a motion that, at the regular meeting on June 4, the Superintendent would define the process and the Treasurer would identify the cost implications for the consideration of renaming Monticello Middle School. At the June 4 meeting, Chief Financial Officer Scott Gainer and Superintendent Kirby presented preliminary information on the topic. The topic is currently in the exploration phase, and next steps will be communicated.
