The International Baccalaureate Organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programs of international education and rigorous assessment. This Primary Years Programme (PYP) encourages students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.
What is so special about the PYP?
The PYP focuses on the development of the whole child, and provides a framework that can meet a child’s academic, social, physical, emotional and cultural needs. The inquiry-based approach lends itself to being integrated across the curriculum. Students take ownership of their skills and attitudes to help prepare them for life in a global world. The PYP also caters to all of the different kinds of learners you get in the classroom. There is something for everybody. The PYP allows students to gain a deeper understanding of the concepts.
Canterbury Mission Statement
We are lifelong learners who express belief in ourselves and others through our actions, academics and the arts.
