Counselor's Corner

Welcome!

I am Christine Bell, and I am the school counselor at Canterbury. I have been at Canterbury for 8 years! This is a very special place, and I am honored to work here. The elementary years are critical to helping kids develop healthy academic competence and confidence as learners. They are beginning to develop decision-making, communication and life skills, as well as character values. It is also a time when students develop and acquire attitudes toward school, self, peers, social groups and family.

I work closely with teachers, students, and families to help students foster school success. Throughout the year I implement a comprehensive school counseling program to support students through this impressionable developmental period. The program is designed to support kids' education through prevention and intervention activities, such as lunch bunches, individual and group counseling services, and classroom guidance. The program works on teaching kids the attitudes and skills needed to be successful in academics, career, and social/emotional development, which serve as the foundation for future success. The tools used to guide this work are the ASCA National Model and ODE social-emotional learning standards.

I look forward to continuing my work in this community and I am here to help YOU! Please contact me if you need my support! [email protected] or 216.371.7470.
